Project Vision Hawaii to administer free vision screenings in January
In Jan. 2023, Project Vision Hawaii will be coming to Waipahu High School to administer free vision screenings to all students. Project Vision Hawaii is a foundation committed to increasing access to health and human services for the people of Hawaii.
The screenings will include an eye scan using an autorefractor and vision acuity test using an eye chart. The process will take about two minutes per student. If a problem is identified during the eye screening, Project Vision Hawaii will then return to do a full eye exam on those students. At the end of the full exam, Project Vision Hawaii will provide free prescription glasses to the students if they are needed.
The vision screenings will be held from January 17-20. The screenings will be held in I-2 (1/17) and in the library (1/18-1/20). Students received the opportunity to opt out of the screening this week.
