School is a big topic among students today, but probably not in the way you would think. It could be like: “Oh, I love school!” but it’s more like: “Oh, school again.”
According to the University of San Diego, “While some amount of homework may help students connect to their learning and enhance their in-class performance, too much homework can have damaging effects. Students with too much homework have elevated stress levels.”
Homework is one of the most things you’ll hear a student complain about often. Teachers should stop assigning homework because, as teens, our stress increases when we have more to do and worry about at the same time, especially if you’re in middle or high school.
You don’t just have one class, you have multiple and having multiple classes probably means double the amount of homework you were assigned in elementary, which is definitely a huge cause of stress.
Not only does it increase stress, most of the time, the homework assigned doesn’t even get turned in or completed. It is understandable to assign homework, but it would be more beneficial if teachers assigned less homework throughout the week.
In conclusion, I believe teachers should assign less homework or just no homework, in general, because it causes stress, and most of the time, it doesn’t even get done.
